for those who love and care for
people living with dementia
Introducing Dementia Connections
I established Dementia Connections in memory of my mother, Elizabeth, who lived with dementia for about 15 years.
Mum’s dementia journey taught me how important it is for family members and professional carers to keep loved ones and clients with dementia connected to life, love and meaning.
This short video shares some stories of how Mum’s dementia journey touched my life.
Dementia Connections offers
- Supportive individual and small-group coaching sessions
- Transforming the Dementia Journey – Empowering dementia workshops, webinars and presentations
- Nurtured by Nature – Inspiring workshops, coaching sessions and presentations on the role of Nature in dementia care
- Inspiring talks about the dementia journey and the role of Nature in dementia care
- Encouraging posts on my Facebook page and blog.
In this video Alice describes the services she offers.
Why ‘Dementia Connections’?
The name ‘Dementia Connections’ emphasises the importance of keeping people living with dementia connected to life, love and meaning.
Disconnection is the tragedy of dementia. As brain cells start disconnecting, this results in the symptoms of dementia – the loss of memory and abilities, and the changes in mood, personality and behaviour. Many other disconnections may follow, as the person with dementia often becomes disconnected from family and friends, career and hobbies, and from a sense of time and place.

Dementia Connections explores the many ways in which
people with dementia can stay connected

Let’s wise up about dementia and build dementia-inclusive communities.
Let’s bust the stigma together!
Dementia still carries a stigma – just as cancer, HIV/AIDS and being gay once did. We’ve overcome stigma in the past, and we can do it again.
Let’s not allow people living with dementia or their loved ones to feel isolated and lonely. And let’s not miss the opportunity to learn from the dementia journey about being present, loving unconditionally and connecting heart-to-heart.
